About Tara

I'm Tara :)

I grew up in a Holy Spirit filled household, and I would not trade my childhood for the world. By the time I was around 11, my family chose to leave the church I grew up in. Even as a young girl, I remember being at a crossroads. I had every opportunity to hand my teenage years over to the world. One evening that year, I asked the Lord to show me who He was, and His response would determine how I would live my life from then on. From this place, I had a radical encounter with the living Jesus, and I have never been the same since. The mantra that seems to be a theme in my life is, “He is worthy, but He makes it worth it.” Through every season, He has called me to deeper surrender and humility. He has called me to lay down my own wisdom and good intentions and trade them for His own life. Yet through it all, in the lowest of places, He has built me, protected me, provided for me, and advocated for me like no one I have ever met. Even through tragedy and heartache, it has never led me to skepticism or doubt, but simply to the question,

“Where would I be without Jesus?”

My passions include leading worship, preaching to small and large groups, street evangelism, and intercessory prayer. Growing up as a pastor's kid, my parents had a consistent mission in the local low-income housing projects. I was raised alongside of kids who had a much different story than I did. After we would leave from our time with them, my dad would turn to me, give me a fist bump, and say, "This is what we do." I would say the same in reply. Ever since I was 4 or 5 years old, I had an identity deeply rooted in partnering with God and being a vessel for His work on the Earth. I hope to tap into this childlike faith as I minister in the nations, and wherever else God may send me.
